"It happened when I was as young as you," said aunt Lee in her old rocking chair. The children listened attentively, expecting something different from what they've heard previously.
Boom! It's a loud thunderclap . Little Peter quickly pulled his blanket over his head while the other got closer to each other. The howling sound of strong wind could be heard outside of the house. Soon, it started raining heavily. Large raindrops hit the windowpanes. They make a loud of noise.
Aunt Lee stood up and walked slowly towards the windows. She drawn the curtains and switched on the lights of the room. She then rested herself comfortably in her rocking chair again.
"Forty years ago, myself and aunt Mary had lost our way in our jungle trekking," she continued. "It was getting dark but both of us were not afraid because we had a flashlight and a compass. We tried to explore the jungle to find our way out, till..." aunt Lee stopped to take a sip of her drink from the glass. The children looked anxiously wanted to know what would happen next.
It was then, in the distance, aunt Lee and aunt Mary could see a wooden house and we headed straight for it. They were twenty metres away from the house when their flashlight flickering and died. It was not totally dark, so they decided to walk on anyway. They were sure it was just some battery problems. True enough, after walking a few metres, their torchlight came back to life. But the spooky thing was they could see an old man when they had not noticed anyone there before. He looked haggard and pale. They screamed from the shook, their legs rooted to the ground.
“Do not go there!,” the stranger yelled as he shielded his eyes from their torch.
The torchlight went dead again.
"Turn back.Turn back," aunt Lee whispered and motioned for aunt Mary to follow. They turned and walked away. They took about twenty steps away before their flashlight could work again. That was when they heard a loud crash. They ran for their life away from the spooky house.
The next morning, aunt Lee and aunt Mary were rescued. They went back to their chalet. At the chalet, they told their trip guide on what had happened to them. It was said that strange sounds could be heard from the wooden house in the midnight. It has been uninhibited for many years. Nobody dares to go near the wooden house because it was rumored that an evil spirit haunts it.

One evening, aunt Lee and aunt Mary decided to explore the wooden house.
"We wanted to prove there was no such paranormal activities in that house", aunt Lee stressed her speech.
When they arrived, the front gate was ajar. The compound has been left unattended for a long time. It was then overgrown with weeds. Looking around at the eerie place, they had chills down their spines.
Aunt Lee and aunt Mary approached the door nervously. Slowly , they pushed it open. Creak! It opened with a sharp creaking sound if not for the moonlight shining through the battered windows, the house would have been in pitch darkness. Cobwebs were hanging from every corner of the ceiling. They explored every room in the creepy house.
As they entered the last room, there was a queer wailing sound like that of a child. Just then, a chilling gust of wind blew into the room. A white figure suddenly appeared, hovering in front of them. As they ran out of the room, scary laughter echoed through the house.
"We had disturbed the spirit!" aunt Lee said. The children trembled upon hearing it.
They fled like the wind, and they were panting breathlessly when they reached to their chalet. After narrating the experience to their guide, he warned them never to go to the wooden house again.
